What is the Care Certificate?

The Care Certificate is an agreed set of standards that sets out the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of specific job roles in the health and social care sectors. It's made up of the 15 minimum standards that should be covered if you are 'new to care' and should form part of a robust induction programme.

How can we support your company or business?

The Care Certificate has been developed jointly by Skills for Care, Health Education England and Skills for Health to demonstrate that health and social care workers are knowledgeable, safe and able to provide compassionate, high-quality care to vulnerable people.

At Integrated Medical Services we understand that undertaking the assessment and management of the company training function is time consuming and costly process - so we offer this offer this as complete package including induction, training, assessment and compliance process. Ensuring that company owners and managers have the time that they require to support their clients and businesses.

At IMS we have experienced staff trainers and assessors who have the required experience and knowledge to meet your individual training needs. We offer as a minimum a full CQC compliant package including: initial inductions, core training, observations and we check each learner’s evidence to ensure that they are able to put their skills new into practice every day.

We will keep record of all staffs progress for compliance purposes and will issue a course certificate on course completion – with your staff members name, the CPD hours you’ve earned, the date and learning objectives.

Course Description
Although not mandatory, it is expected that new members of staff entering the care sector achieve the competency underlined in the Care Certificate. The duration of training varies depending on each delegates’ circumstances, although the Care Certificate takes, on average, 12 weeks to complete. The course covers the 15 care standards underlined by Health Education England and Skills for Care, and is a replacement for the Common Induction Standards and National Minimum Training Standards.

We are now offering an all-in-one in-house training week in which each of the 15 standards of care is covered in detail so that staff are best prepared to complete their assessment. In this week, the 15 Standards enshrined in the Care Certificate are covered over a period of 5 days, with a recap and assessment completed on the fifth day.
